HF50-Series Wideband, 500 Watt Power Module

Spectrum Devices has developed a 2-30 MHz, 500 watt reference design using a pair of HF50-220 devices. This power module achieves over 500 watts with a minimum of 14 dB across the HF band. The reference design uses wideband 9:1 transformers for input and output matching, and also includes an on-board bias supply for Class AB operation. The board layout can be easily modified to use Spectrum Devices' thermally enhanced HF50-250 transistors.

 

 

Schematics, parts lists, and circuit board files for this reference design are available for download. The PCB file utilizes the design software provide by ExpressPCB. Instructions on how to download the software and order PC boards are available on their website.
